Today, we are thrilled to announce a major milestone in our journey - our successful preseed fundraise.
Building energy retrofits are crucial in combating climate change. However, these projects are notorious for being slow, expensive, and disruptive. Traditional retrofit methods often involve painstakingly surveying individual buildings, a process that can take months. Yet, in the face of climate change, with rising global temperatures and increasing energy demands, these retrofits are more urgent than ever.
Enter Mortar IO, where innovation meets necessity. We are leveraging physics-based modelling, enriched by AI to create retrofit twins (a concept based on the notion of a digital twin) for commercial buildings. The 3D retrofit twins with their data aggregation capabilities and simulations, further bolstered using AI/ML, geospatial imagery, and other publicly available data, allow us to estimate the energy and carbon efficiency of each building within large portfolios. Imagine having the power to model, plan, and execute retrofit projects for hundreds of buildings simultaneously.
What sets Mortar IO apart is our proprietary platform. Unlike traditional solutions that focus on single aspects of building management, our platform offers holistic, portfolio-wide modeling.
